Production Technology Intern
The Production Technology internship seeks to educate students on best practices in the TV industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep interest TV/Film production and have at least a basic knowledge of camera, audio, and grip and electric equipment.
This position primarily works with the gear department – learning the ins and outs of Coolfire production equipment, creating and fulfilling gear orders, organizing and reparing gear, building sets, and acting as a PA/Grip on set. However, you will also be asked to help out other departments with their needs at any time. This internship is a great opportunity because you’ll get to work with many of Coolfire’s employees and gain valuable experience in multiple areas of production.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to pursue a career as a director of photography, grip, gaffer or any other technical position on set. At the end of this internship you will walk away with a thorough understanding of industry standard equipment, terminology and proper usage. This is a very hands on experience and something that not all schools offer- not only a resume builder but a skill builder!
-Work with all Coolfire departments to help coordinate gear for shoots
-Learn workflow for tracking inventory
-Learn standard terminology for camera, lighting and sound
-Work as a production assistant/grip on set
-Learn the basics for equipment repair and troubleshooting
-Build an understanding of the tools used on set and how they can be applied to solve common problems
-Serve as backup to gear manager
-Basic knowledge and interest in camera, audio, grip and electric equipment
-Motivated, eager and self-sufficient
-Access to a car w/ valid drivers license
