As a member of the Team at 2e Creative, you are charged with establishing the conceptual and stylistic direction for client projects and campaigns and the design staff, including orchestrating their work, as well as the work of production artists, photographers, illustrators, prepress technicians, printers and anyone else who is involved in the development of a project. This position requires leadership and leveling. You should want to inspire the rest of your team to create unrivaled brilliant work and you should be ready to hear their thoughts, as well.

Partner with the Associate Creative Director and members of the Account Team to establish and review creative as it relates to each assignment
Lead, inspire and collaborate with members of the Creative Team to produce inventive, thoughtful, relevant work
Lead projects; overseeing planning, concept development, design and implementation; assigning tasks and monitoring progress
Understand and work within project parameters: client goals and requirements, internal goals, usability, technical constraints, as well as budget and schedule; Interact with internal groups and external vendors and manage deadlines
Collaborate with copywriters, creative directors and designers to develop strong concepts – without necessarily worrying about the credit
Direct and execute assigned projects; manage photo shoots, designers and events as appropriate
Work within a variety of media from traditional print to interactive
Take the lead on executing client presentations
Work closely with clients; listening to them and articulating their situation, goals, and requirements; Be a conductor of innovative design that delivers on creative strategy and conceptual ideas and have the ability to present to clients
Collaboratively establish the creative strategy for projects. Know when to lead and when to listen.
Mentor and support designers; understanding their strengths and weaknesses, and recommending projects and training to help them develop – After all, you’re a pro at this
Experiment with new tools and techniques to improve our work
Cultivate an understanding of trends and share insights with the team. You don’t need to know your favorite ad of all time. You need to know your favorite ad of the week.
Represent 2e Creative publicly, including promoting and enhancing the organization’s image, coordinating effective representation and communication of the 2e brand to various communities, potential partnerships and business channels
BFA or MFA in Graphic Design or equivalent field
4-6 years experience as an art director or senior designer within an advertising or marketing communications agency
A book filled with ideas, concepts and creative solutions you can talk through and are genuinely proud of
Ability to take a thought, an idea, and conceptualize it into beautiful work that is exactly what the client is looking for – even if they didn’t say it
A strong design and interactive (Web) background is a huge plus
Experience working with writing partners to drive concepts and campaign ideation for print, digital and motion
Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
Experience with (and understanding of) the print production process
Strong knowledge and experience in designing for the web
The confidence to ask the right questions, to own projects and supervise activities and production as necessary
An articulate, friendly, whatever-it-takes, down-to-earth attitude, along with a strong work ethic
